This FREE Book of Numbers is an incredibly useful resource for preschoolers to recognize and name numbers and to practice pre-writing, pre-reading, counting, and fine motor skills, laying the foundation for future mathematical operations.
Each page of this mini-book features a different number and objects for children to count, and includes a dotted phrase with the number and object to be traced. It also includes multiple dotted numbers to help children learn number shapes and practice their tracing skills.

The book includes the numbers 0 to 10. You can get it at the end of this post.
Benefits of the Book of Numbers
This book provides multiple benefits for preschoolers across several domains, helping them lay the foundation for more complex mathematical operations, such as addition, subtraction, and pattern recognition. Among the benefits we can mention:
- Number Recognition and Formation – Helping the children understand the numerical order and the connection between the shape of a number and its quantity, and commit them to memory.
- Cognitive Development – Exposing them to numbers enhances their memory, improves their attention abilities, and encourages logical thinking, which also helps them apply this knowledge to other tasks, such as recognizing time, quantities, and money value.
- Problem-Solving Abilities –Learning numbers helps preschoolers develop their critical thinking skills, enabling them to count, compare, sort, and organize objects.
- Language Development – When children learn the names of the numbers, they learn vocabulary, which also helps them understand sequence and order.
- Fine Motor Skills – Tracing numbers and phrases improves the development of the small muscles in their fingers and hands, and their hand-eye coordination.
- Social-Emotional Development – Learning to count and recognize numbers builds children’s self-esteem and confidence, improves their focus, patience, and attention to detail.
You don’t have to give all the pages to the children immediately. You can read a page at a time, as you introduce each number.
