Importance of Using Name Tags
Name Tags are essential, especially for preschoolers, because they help them become familiar with what their written names look like, how to spell them, and how to copy and write them. Still, it also helps them recognize their placements on the different areas of your classroom, for example, which is their table, cubbies, pencil boxes, and drawers, and most importantly creates in them a sense of ownership and feeling of belonging, especially at the beginning of the year when they might feel scare or anxious about a new school or classroom.
Name tags will also help teachers check attendance, create seating charts, and recognize new students better, especially substitute teachers.
How to Prepare the Name Tags

- White paper or cardstock.
- Laminator, and laminator pouches
You only need to print the selected pages on white cardstock and laminate them for durability.

How to get the most out of your name tags:
- Download the PDF to your computer.
- Open it in the most up-to-date version of Adobe Reader, as using a different program may result in print distortions or difficulties when modifying your templates.
- Your editable spaces will show up as a grey-blue box, and a thick black line will appear when you hover your cursor above it.
- Add your student’s name.
- Once you finish, don’t forget to save it.
