Importance of Lesson Plans
Lesson plans allow teachers to work effectively by giving them a detailed framework of what they are going to be doing in their classrooms at all times, what meaningful activities they are going to be addressing, and overall, coming to their classroom fully prepared instead of wondering what to do next.
This means that the importance of doing lesson plans is to create a well-organized guideline to follow a curriculum effectively, facilitating a learning environment where children will have the opportunity to learn, as well as making the teacher’s job easier.
Building lesson plans ahead of time means that a teacher starts the day prepared to deliver her lessons, instead of figuring things out as she goes. Without lesson plans as an effective guideline, the children will lose focus really fast, and the learning process will not be achieved. That also gives them room to get in trouble, and the teacher will end up stressed out trying to figure out what to do next.
Since creating daily lesson plans is not that easy, requires hard work, and usually varies to ensure that they meet the requirement of the children’s needs and the program, these different formats are very convenient to create a good lesson plan, making a teacher’s job a little easier and give her a solid foundation to guide her future lesson planning, where only small adjustments will be necessary.
How to Use the Templates
Most of these templates are editable, allowing you to modify them on your computer and create weekly and daily lesson plans adapted to your particular needs.
How to get the most out of your templates:
- Download the document to your computer.
- Open it in the most up-to-date version of Adobe Reader, because if you use a different program you may run into print distortions or difficulties modifying your templates.
- Your editable spaces will show up as a grey-blue box, and a thick black line will appear when you hover your cursor above it.
- To add your desired text, you have two choices:
If the editable box has text already in it, you just have to highlight it, delete it, and then add your own words. If the editable box does not have any text in it, just put the cursor inside the box and start typing.
- Once you have finished filling out your lesson plan, don’t forget to save it.
You can use any font you want, but the size of your text might be limited by the size of the box. The more text you type, the smaller the font. You can also modify the alignment to your preference.
