I can’t believe Thanksgiving is gone, and Christmas is just around the corner. In my school, we take things slowly around the holidays, but you know that when children are busy, they don’t get in trouble; therefore, it is always an excellent choice to get them engaged in learning activities regardless of the season, even when they think they are just playing. These FREE Christmas Dot-to-Dot activities will help you with that.

How to Prepare and Use the Activities

These hands-on, easy-to-prepare activities only need a handful of materials, which are:

Print each page on white paper and give each child one page at a time. Have them trace the picture using a pencil, marker, or crayon. If you want to use the pages multiple times, print them out on white cardstock, laminate them, or place them in dry-erase pockets.

Have the children identify the number 1 to start tracing.  Instruct them to follow the numbers beginning with one and say the name of each number as they trace the picture.

These activities are great for strengthening the children’s:

  • Concentration and attention to detail.
  • Number recognition and identification.
  • Number sequence order.
  • Fine motor skills.

Books About Christmas for Preschoolers

I always recommend reading to your kids as much as you can. Reading is a fantastic way to improve your children’s comprehension and vocabulary and help them develop their imagination and pre-writing and pre-reading skills.

Fill your library, centers, and book baskets with a great collection of books about Christmas. Most can be found at your local library or used bookstore, but you can also order them on Amazon to add to your collection.
